Hey Dawn, I hadn't seen this article yet. You speak so eloquently about the painful process of loss and grieving - and renewal with purpose. Your faith and trust in God is powerful and inspiring. Thank you for helping ease my pain over Fire. I know I do not walk alone.

Laughs and gray hair right about now Marie - Harley and his buddies went for a "joy ride" during the night and after about an hour of looking, we found them at the neighbors visiting their horses! Deer are very thick in our pasture and tear down the fence as they jump it plus deep snow is covering the fence in places....we'll be fixing fence today before they get turned out again!

That was a wonderful story. I really enjoyed it. I love Harley already - he's my kind of horse, always looking for adventure. I think he is going to give you lost of laughs along the way.

I loved your story of Al, and his ways, teacher of jail breaks. It's wonderful how he helped you through such hard times, battling of your cancer, which gratefully was so long ago already. I can surely see how rides with him, were your 'release', a feeling of being alive for sure!
My Al, was Chumley. In the fall, a few yrs ago, I enjoyed a wonderful ride..galloping through the cut field, I was reminded of his endurance while we both enjoyed the feeling so free. Down a gravel road, we cantered up to two riders, a neighbor, in disbelief I was riding a horse of 33 yrs. His life's end, was that of Al's, that same winter. Years too soon.
Thank you for sharing your tearful and inspiriing story of Al, many can appreciate.
